Digwick grows in named updates, each one themed after where the week's
work went. Newest first.
1.2.0 - Monster Update 1
August 2026
Something woke up under the blocks.
Zombies: shamblers that rise in packs from the very first night; they drop bone and the new Cloth
Slime Monster: a hulking brute that splits into two Slimes when slain
Ghost: born in the unexplored fog, it drifts straight through walls and is only vulnerable on lit ground, or in the moment it strikes; dawn banishes it. Drops the new Ectoplasm
New loot: Cloth and Ectoplasm... the Altar will want these
Hit effects: sword slashes, pickaxe sparks, death puffs and a tiny freeze on every killing blow
Stairs travel: the camera now dives into the glowing stairs
Tools rebalanced: the Wooden Pickaxe is craftable (and breakable), any pickaxe can strain-mine one tier above itself at 8x wear, and Stone/Iron Pickaxes now cost stone and iron
Options menu: music and the minesweeper numbers, now off by default
Next time: the Forge Update... the Altar rises.
1.1.0 - Cozy Update 1
August 2026
The same game, but it feels better everywhere.
Juice: screen shake, hit flashes, floating damage numbers; monsters flinch, get knocked back a full tile, and burst out of the ground when released
Reveal wave: cascade reveals now ripple outward from your tap
New art: animated torch, high-detail glowing stairs with rising sparkles (blue leads down, gold leads up), new pickaxe and sword icons
The forge glows: it finally counts as a light source
Repairs: workbench, forge and watchtower can be repaired (half the build cost)
Quality of life: freshly crafted weapons equip themselves; tap items to move them in and out of chests; item names show on tap
Balance: the glowing stairs now appear close to your camp, under a soft block, so every digger meets the depths early
Next time: something wakes up under the blocks…
